![]() Supplementary instruction will be delivered in a variety of ways, including Zoom meetings, recorded videos, and critical thinking assignments.Honors Option Students who choose the honors option will be presented with supplementary materials that reinforce, enrich, and expand on topics covered in the class. A hard-copy of the textbook can be borrowed through the Blue Tent OnLoan program if students wish to utilize both the online and and print version of the text.Interactive applications will help students create, visualize, and investigate properties of lines, angles, circles, triangles, and other polygons, solidifying relationships between the properties of geometric figures.Digital resources will include an ebook with links to supplementary videos and on-the-spot explanations, and WebAssign. An Array of Resources The class will use the 2018 edition of McGraw-Hill's Glencoe Geometry, which features built-in study tips, concept checks, applications to real life, practice quizzes, and hands-on activities to solidify concepts. The instructor will participate in class forums and will be readily available to answer questions throughout each week. Students will interact regularly with their classmates during the weekly live classes as well as in online forums in their Moodle classroom. Students should expect to spend 6-8 hours per week (which includes the recorded instruction and live Zoom session) on classwork.Each week will incorporate some sort of real-life fun application-encouraging critical thinking and applying math concepts to the real world.Games (similar to Kahoot and Jeopardy)-where students solve puzzles/riddles and complete fun-Geometry related assignments-can be expected, especially in review weeks.A peer forum in the online classroom will offer a venue for questions.Tests will be given periodically to measure mastery of concepts.Homework sets, proof writing, and quizzes will be assigned weekly. They can log in to a Zoom study hall-with microphones muted and videos on or off-to work on their math homework. Students can drop in to a Zoom study hall at any time to ask questions.
